A smart warehouse is a set of modern technologies that are implemented to automate and optimise warehouse processes. There is no clear indication that a warehouse can be called "smart", but this name can apply to any warehouse that has a high level of automation of both informational and physical processes. This course deals with two main stages of building a smart warehouse: implementation of new information technologies based on modern WMS and automation of warehouse processes through the use of various kinds of robots and conveyor systems. Modern WMS is focused on the use of various devices based on RFID technology, machine vision and other types of IoT sensors. The intelligence of a WMS lies in its ability to solve warehouse planning and management challenges by relying on big data, artificial intelligence and predictive analytics solutions. In the field of physical process automation, the introduction of automated systems for storage, picking, packing and transport of goods and commodities is observed. Much attention is paid to the issues of safe and efficient interaction between people and robots working together in a smart warehouse.
