At the beginning of the course students are introduced to the general principles of risk management organisa-tion based on the international standards ISO 31000:2009 and ISO 28000:2007. The course provides an over-view of the main types of technical, commercial, environmental, and other risks specific to logistics systems and supply chains. Qualitative and quantitative methods of identifying and assessing risks in supply chains occupy an important place in the course. The last part of the course is devoted to the methods of risk mitigation and compensation of possible losses in supply chains. Such methods include risk redistribution, risk diversification, risk insurance, leverage, hedging and provisioning.
